Carrie Soto Is Back
For our first read, I had to choose a Taylor Jenkins Reid book. With it being Women’s History Month, I only felt it to be fitting. TJR writes strong and empowering female characters with so much raw emotion! I decided to go with Carrie Soto Is Back due to its amazing female lead as well as how action packed the book is. When I first read this book, it became an instant favorite. I remember settling down on the couch with this book and being taken away into the wonderfully crafted TJR multiverse.
The book follows Carrie Soto, a hotheaded tennis player, coming out of her 6-year retirement after a younger athlete threatens to take her record. You read as Carrie struggles retraining her body as well as fighting with the media. The book also follows the beautiful family relationship between her and her father, Javier Soto.
